The things Ka Urban usually asks before ordering.
About 62 packs. That is the figure this calculator uses, so a cubic metre bought by the pack works out to roughly P4,650 at the single-pack price of P75, or P4,278 if every pack comes from a 10-pack bundle.
For loam, once you need about 2.3 cubic metres. Below that, packs and bundles cost less. Above it, the minimum bulk load of 3.4 cubic metres at P9,792 is cheaper than the same volume in packs, even though you end up with more soil than you asked for.
The dump truck, as soon as you need more than 3.4 cubic metres. Two elf loads cost P17,000 and carry 6.8 cubic metres. One dump truck costs the same P17,000 and carries 12 cubic metres, so you get 5.2 cubic metres more for the same money.
Thirteen to fourteen. A cubic metre of garden soil weighs about 490 kg, so each sack is roughly 36 kg. At P180 to P300 a sack that works out to P2,430 to P4,050 a cubic metre, against P2,500 for an elf load and P1,417 on the dump truck.
Raised beds and vegetable plots usually want 20 to 30 cm. Lawn topdressing needs 2 to 5 cm. Pots and planters are filled to about 2 cm below the rim so water does not run over the edge when you water.
